Mandy Hedges Counselling

Registered BACP Counsellor

A very warm welcome to my website.

I am Mandy Hedges, a fully qualified experienced, compassionate counsellor.

“Sometimes life can be difficult and throws us challenges that we find hard to deal with alone.
You may find you need someone to talk to and explore your thoughts and feelings.
Friends and family can help, but sometimes can be too close and we may not want to worry them”.
Counselling can offer you a safe, non- judgemental, confidential place to explore the things that maybe troubling you.
Talking about your problems with someone independent before they get out of hand can be the first step to change.

Some people contact me even before a problem arises. Others get in touch as soon as they become aware of a problem and, for others, it’s when the problem has become too much to cope with on their own.
I hope to provide you with some answers to any questions you may have about counselling or me on my website.
"Am I living in a way which is deeply satisfying to me,
and which truly expresses me?”
Carl R Rogers.

About Me

I am married with grown up children, love animals and meeting people. I am originally from Essex and after the death of three family member's, moved to Greece with my family, where we lived for four years.

It was on returning to the UK in 2004, I started my Counselling journey, first with CPACB certificate in counselling skills and studies. Following that I studied at Strode College in Somerset and Redlands Training Centre in Bournemouth, gaining CPCAB Diploma's in Therapeutic Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. (CBT) Levels 4 and 5.

As part of my training I had over 50 hours of personal counselling, so have experienced the therapy sessions. My counsellor was extremely professional and understanding and helped me over come my unresolved grief.

I had volunteer placements with Exeter Drug Project, in Weymouth, where I worked with the families of clients with addiction issues. In Turning Point in Yeovil I worked with clients with drug and alcohol addictions. In the Balsam Centre in Wincanton, where I worked with individuals experiencing on going poor mental health and clients with learning disabilities.

Qualifying in 2009, I  set up my own private practice, working from the Balsam Centre, where I continued to see clients.

I moved to Suffolk in 2013 and again set up in private practice and now have nearly 900 clients hours. I work with a diverse range of clients, with different issues.

Being committed to my continue personal development  and undertake regular training and workshops. I have just finished a Diploma in Eating Disorders and I am currently working toward BACP accreditation.
